Ingredient Spotlight: Chermoula

Looking for a unique way to create bold flavors for your dishes? Getting a bit bored of basic salsas and common chutneys? Well, it might be a great idea to take a trip to north Africa to explore unique condiments native to this region.Luckily, you don’t have to book a flight because with just a few ingredients, you can whip up chermoula-- a popular, flavorful, sauce primarily used in Moroccan, Tunisian and Algerian cuisine. And of course, you can always check out your local international grocer to see if they have any on hand.As noted in our August 2014 newsletter covering spice blends and condiments, chermoula an aromatic blend of olive oil, coriander, cumin, citrus, paprika, garlic, cilantro and chile. It can be made for dressing food (fish, meats, vegetables) or even as a marinade.
