Recall Alert: State Garden Mixed Greens

Earlier this week, the Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of State Garden brand 90 varieties of mixed green salads. State Garden had voluntarily recalled these products due to a risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. According to the FDA press release, "Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy persons may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infections can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.Please know that NO Listeria illnesses have been linked to any State Garden product."Here's the complete list of product names that have been voluntarily recalled.
